Invitation to the opening ceremony

The first round of the International Sustainability Academy (ISA) will start at the beginning of October 2019.

12 scholarship holders, 7 women and 5 men from 11 developing countries and territories listed on the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, will jointly begin their project and research work in Hamburg. The unique scholarship for young professionals is practical, multi-faceted, global and exciting at the same time. Under the motto “Learning from each other”.

The scholarship holders will discuss with high-profile representatives from politics, science and business which framework conditions are necessary and which programmes and initiatives are important for the implementation of the sustainability goals by 2030.

ISA was initiated by the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Landesverband Hamburg e.V. (SDW) (German Forest Protection Association) and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Another highlight of the event is the award ceremony of the “Sustainability Project ” competition, which is organised by the Regional Network Agencies for Sustainability Strategies (RENN) in cooperation with the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE).
