Internship of Ekaterina at KIT Royal Tropical Institute

Three weeks ago, I embarked on an internship with the Gender Team at the Royal Tropical Institute in the Netherlands (KIT Royal). These past few weeks have been incredible, providing me with invaluable knowledge, insights, and inspiration to drive my project, SoyAgricultora, dedicated to empowering female farmers in the Galapagos Islands.

Today, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to the International Sustainability Academy (ISA) for making this transformative experience possible. As a research fellow at ISA, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the fascinating world of gender equality and rural development through SoyAgricultora. And now, at KIT Royal, I am fortunate to be mentored by a group of truly remarkable individuals.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship has been the exchange of knowledge. At KIT Royal, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with a diverse community of like-minded individuals who are equally passionate about sustainability and gender equality. Sharing ideas and exchanging experiences has not only broadened my perspectives but has also deepened my understanding of the crucial role that gender equality plays in creating a sustainable world.

Collaboration lies at the heart of ISA’s work, and by fostering these connections and providing platforms for young changemakers, ISA is paving the way for projects like mine to flourish and create tangible differences in our journey towards a more sustainable world. I am genuinely grateful for their support and the opportunities that have come my way.
