INTRODUCTION TO FADLI

“I believe that the most appropriate way to solve the waste problem is to step back and reconsider the value of that waste. This is the heart of our “Proterra” project.”

Fadli (31 years) has over five years of international consulting experience in sanitation and waste management projects. He is also a Program Manager at Wanua Panrita, a youth-led non-profit organization working on empowering remote communities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. His interest in waste, sanitation, and agriculture nexus grew while pursuing his master`s degree in Agriculture Science and Resources Management in the Tropics at the University of Bonn, Germany.

His project at ISA focuses on developing a sustainable business case for the bioconversion of organic waste into protein and fertilizer using Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL). He aims to divert organic waste from landfills while providing alternative protein for poultry and fish farmers. Organic waste from markets, restaurants, and agriculture will be collected and fed to the BSFL. The direct results of his project are the implementation of the business plan and the formulation of poultry feed and fertilizer.
